This all what was removed today

And gave the inside a good clean out ready for cage now that's next

All cuts still need cleaning up and made tidy but they can be done after the cage is all in its coming on now :)

Now that's a good project! I've always been meddling with bikes over the years but I've always wanted to build a car from scratch like an old golf or rs-turbo... two hobbies is to much cash though haha

I enjoy it and it is building a car from scratch and it keeps me to busy to keep a tank and what with racing costs and maitence something had to give I earn decent money but I can't justify £500 a month on hobbys so one had to go but this is a fun sport and I will have on the back of the car when sigh written

"Built Not Bought"

I know it will be right if I do it myself and the car and cage ECT I will know in the event of an accident I'm protected as I've had a few crashes over the years when racing but only ever been knocked out once so not to bad haha

Few hours on it tonight so time to fit the rear bumper and side supports

dbc8b9699a5d409e6c46f778f16c43fd.jpg0133f89ba28731f220347fa2ee0cd8e0.jpg

Next I have started to blend arches and skirt to the car looks better

07c762bc86d33771a5b7106ee1ee15ba.jpg

Next was some more weight saving !! Now you probably thinking not possible but it was the passenger door has been skinned
02e1e037b1d543e9288aeaf43e417ea0.jpg

Also there is no need for a door handle so I have removed that you will see the plate put over the hole in above picture and this is it finished after a bit of filler

So not a bad few hours on the car another step closer :)

Another step closer this evening bonnet height on pins got to be adjusted but another couple of jobs of the list. Bonnet pins, grill support, name plate , plate over fuel filler cap and front side repeaters in wings.. The joys of bodywork.

Next on the list complete rear section of cage and fit centre windowscreen bar , mount seat fully, finish of steering column and plate inner rear arches, remove a few odd brackets and a good clean up of spotwelds inside and hopefully have inside in primer by the end of weekend :)

Got the suspention on the other night it now sits like a stock rod and has the camber to N/S/F wheel

The car now runs 2.25 springs that way I can easily alter the length and lb of spring if i need to tweek the handling I should not be to far of with the length an lb I have chosen.

The car also now on Gaz shocks all round which are valved correctly for a stock rod.

If you look you will see the car leans to O/S/F as I race in a clockwise direction

Here is the camber added

I have since tidied the garage up as it was looking a right mess
