Hermit crab

What would be the possible reasons for my hermit crab to keep coming back to the same coral even if I put in one end of the tank he will still make his way back up to the top of one of my islands to the same coral he doesn't seem to be doing any damage and From what I can see there are no eggs either.

No bacteria or dead skin on the coral for the crab to dine on? Seems strange!

Hard to say from the pic, but there is most likely a food source in it that has him interested. I gave up on trying to figure those guys out since they typically move all around. I only have two small ones left after my snail pop was decimated. I wasn't feeding enough to keep them happy, so they found food.
