Not A Good Day

Well came down the garden to the office this morning to find (Sue) one of my Marudo Chagoi had jumped out of my pond.

:crybaby: :crybaby: :crybaby:

77cm fantastic fish which I got as Tosai and was only Sansi last year so was going to be a real show winner...... fantastic lines and colour...

I know...... just had my m8 round to have a look and he really put the knive in and told me how much she was worth :sorry: :hairpull:

I got her at just over 1 from Maurdo and this year she would have fetched well into 4 digits :mf_Flush: but more importantly she was named after my Girlfriend. :sorry:

Its not the money its the fact that she was so tame.... I used to dip a dummy in honey and she would come and tack it and swim around the pond sucking it...... never got her to bring it back....... a bit also like the girlfreind.....

Chagio are such a calming influence on the other fish.....

Oh well on wards and up wards as they so.

gutted for you m8, i used to work in 2 shops selling koi so i know how attached you can get to them, chagoi may not be the prettiest of koi, as the name translates brown koi, but they certainly make up for it in personality, and are by far the best of the ogons, do you know why it jumped m8, is there any indication

No idea why m8 so annoyed with myself as the weekend I was about to put the covers on but looked at the wheather and decided next weekend.

Don't think anything spooked this fish as it's to big..... If it was a cat or heron it would have pulled it in and no signs of flashing before. 3 weeks ago a panned this fish and did a scrap and such a clean fish could find a thing even at about x200.

Usually you can find a few flukes or something but nothing....

It's just one of them things..... It's the only second fish I have lost in 15 years, I put down 2 but they where in pain after a heron but only about 15cm in size.
