  1. Sorry Guys

Sorry guys for being so absent from here and not even posting something in this little Kraken Corals area, things have been busy but thats a good thing. So what do we have to offer? Currently we stock dry goods from Seachem ATM Reeflowers Jecod Mover Kelo Nyos Bubble Magus Little Ocean D-D Aquaforest Vitallis Ocean Nutrition and probably some brands ive forgotten We have a red sea display tank in the front entrance and now have two display tanks (dry) from Evolution Aqua including a Pro Reef display tank. On top of that livestock wise we have out tanks separated down into softies, sps and lps to make life easy for everyone and then 5 fish racks behind that. Still quite small but we are pushing all the pennies we make into more tanks and stock. Oh and most of our stuff is available online at www.krakencorals.co.uk our coral stocklist is to be honest a bit out of date online, its hard work keeping the stock updated because it changes quite often but hopefully this is something we will be on top of in the future. We do posts pictures to facebook though and we are willing to post coral without a problem although not fish at the moment we would prefer these to be collected.
  2. Where Is A Good Place To Get Frags Online

I do posted LPS and SPS frags (aswell as mushrooms zoa etc) only problem being these days i dont have time to keep my website up to date (let alone find all the zoa names etc)
  3. Kessil Led

I run a pair of kessil on my mixed reef display SPS lps and the odd softie. Love the shimmer and the light design. Don't like the current prices as they just jumped up. As an alternative have you looked at the kelo . It looks like a kessil has the same spectrum as the kessil comes with the gooseneck in the box unlike the kessil. Can use the kessil controller and costs half the price.

  5. New Sponsor Kraken Corals

Ill see how it runs for a couple of weeks, of course if you all come down weekly and buy everything i wouldnt have to keep it stable at all :)
  6. New Sponsor Kraken Corals

Im replacing the sump for a larger one to help me keep it stable, ill be adding a large turf scrubber only one fish and then ill monitor it for a while before deciding what to do dosing wise, the hard issue with keeping stable parameters in a shop is that stock changes and with changing stock comes changing parameters so initially good regular water changes 2x per week i should expect and ill see how the levels pan out over the first month before making a decision with dosing.

Run out of bloody coffee :( im on tea today, not sure how im functioning :)
  8. Live Rock Suppliers

Most people use dry / man made rock these days with a swing towards being better for the environment etc, dry rock + colony = instant gratification Looking at the prices Live rock in shops is approx 12-15 per kg now (the dollar doesnt help this) Real reef rock a man made purple rock is 15-17 a kg depending if its rock or plates Aquaroche / Arka isnt on a per kg price but typically these are expensive. Dry rock (marko) is around the £6 per kg mark I find new starter tanks are mainly done these days with Dry rock + colony, its fish on day one + no hitchhikers (not initially at least) Looking at this based on say a 300 litre tank, we are assuming 30kg of rock in this case 30kg live rock = £360 or 30kg Dry Rock + Enough colony to seed = £215 If you wanted less display rock and used something like marine pure instead you could lessen the initial blow further 10kg live rock + marine pure quart + colony = £130
