  2. Decisions, Decisions....

more control as in 6 channel control where iv only got white/colours on 1 ch and blues/uv on another. the only down sides are more control means more messing and the wifi is a controller not a phone app. to use it would mean keeping it charged up as I don't think there is controls on the unit it's self. all iv heard is good reports on the 50xx series same as with the 21xx or 20xx they all grow corals and probably just as good as any other light unit. 3. Decisions, Decisions....

iv got the 2021proreef and it's great just wish it had a bit more control. the newer 50xx ones have more control but with the wifi remote. and they use cree/osram led's if I remember. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

  7. Jebao/jacod Rw-15 Wavemaker

never used the hydor ones. have only used jebao wp's then gyre then back to jebao but wifi rw 15's which are great. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

look at the psu it will have output voltage and amps printed on it. you can then search the bay or similar for one that matches. off the top of my head it's 24volts 2amps output but don't quote me on that double check for yourself. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  9. Tank Background

my current tank has gloss black paint applied via a roller. my sump however has been wrapped in white vinyl. the vinyl can be removed easily if you don't like it where as paint can't. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  10. Clean Substrate

use a gravel vac when I do a water change couple of nassarius snails and sand sifting starfish. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  11. Coral Box Dc D700 Skimmer

I had the D300 on my other tank great skimmer couldn't fault it. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  12. Return Pump

if you put more lights in you could end up giving the corals too much light which will bleach them. if the corals are looking healthy then I wouldn't add any more lighting unless it's a separate blue led strip for night time viewing I. e. blue on at 8am for 4 hours then main lights for 6 hours then blue for 4hours. 13. Return Pump

soft corals don't really need alot of light. is your tank the led version? and I change mine every 4-6weeks iv switched to red sea reef spec carbon and you use less of it compared to other brands. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  14. Return Pump

welcome to reef face, my advice would be to go with the jebao iv got the dc2000 and dct8000 both great pumps and silent. what lights are on the tank? and why do you think they are not bright enough. aquarays are ok iv got them on my small tank but they arnt the best. what type of corals are you planning on keeping? as for granular activated carbon personally I'd run it in every tank it soaks up organics which can make the water yellow and removes any toxins that may be in the water. as for the skimmer I belive you can't go wrong with tunze on the smaller skimmers I havnt had one which will come as a shock to people as iv had a few skimmers lol. 15. Non-Return Valve?

This.........non return valves don't work long term they block up with crud and fail so don't rely on it make sure your sump can handle the back syphon sent from my s6 using Tapatalk!
