  2. What Type Of Snail Is This?

Hey guys. I've had two of these for as long as I can remember but never found out what they are called, so I thought i'd turn to the infinite wisdom of the reef-facers! are they supposed to have polyps type things on their back? Here a picture of a hermit crab.... Dunno why really, I was just proud of my photography skills?! :)
  3. Can Anyone Id This Purple Monster?

They look pretty red...... I guess he's a baddie. Perhaps he'll be nice on toast or something..

  6. Just found this on my LR, don't know how I didnt see it before because its huge!! He's now in a little macro algae tank I made. You guys always know your apples, any ideas? Here's where his former residence was! Thanks chaps! rob
  7. Large refugium?

    Yep, thats my thinking.
  8. Large refugium?

Hello people! I've not posted on the forum for awhile. Aside from preparing for our next baby I've downsized my tank and had a dead laptop.... Thats my excuse anyways. My wife and I decided to downsize our tank alittle so we could get it in to our living room instead of the dining room. Gone from a juwel vison 180 to a fluval osaka 155! The osaka is a pretty cool looking little tank and, for my needs anyway, a better shape than the juwel. I've sold some of my old live stock and I'm now looking to add on a refugium/sump. There isn't really enough space under the cabinet for the kinda sump that I want so I plan to plumb it in to my cellar. All I plan on putting in the refugium is live rock rubble and various types macro algae as well as putting my skimmer in there. I plan to light it with low level kelvin gu10 bulbs too. That's pretty much it. The refugium is going to be 110 litres which I guess is almost as large as the display tank. I'd really love to hear some wise words of wisdom from you guys.. Would I need to add any baffles to the fuge? Would I need to cycle the fuge because of it being a new body of water? Once established could I knock the canister fitlter on the head?
  9. Stand alone refugium?

  15. Can A Scooter Live On Enriched Brineshimp

Well... I've had him for a few months now! I removed all the chromis /damsel fish / six line and silkshot goby to even the odds of him feeding well. I'll be getting my new tank on sunday and I'm now considering my stocking options.
