hi guys and gals i thought i would share my new project with you all.

my aims are to have a sun coral tank.

right guys this is gonna be picture intensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is how ive had to live for the past 6 weeks.

now the day of reckoning has arrived and im very impressed with the quality of the build.

now the fun bit of building up the scape while constantly topping up with salted water (thanks debs and wayne for the loan of the water containers).

now for the sump.

the morning after.

ive decided i quite like the rockwork its turned out well considering i was working blind with the water being so cloudy, so im not going to alter the aquascape apart from to add a couple of peices of braching.
so i traded the rest of my unwanted for a nice big orange sun and some nice zoas.

been playing with the led tile and the power controller today and im impressed with the storm features, in the pitch black it randomly light the tank up and looks amazing, but when the led is on full lighting it then fluctuates the light along with lightening strikes.

the sump was a right joan collins to get everything in there, especially trying to sweat the return pipe onto the hosetail.

all in all im really happy with how it all turned out.
looking out for a job and some cheap ainthias or jawfish

ps the black back covers are on there way they missed them from my order.

not doing the diy rock route as i bought 50kg for £40 aiptasia infested. and still had enough to swap for £55 worth of stock, now thats my bargain of the year.

aips killed via hi pressure washing then darkness whilst recuring, which took care of the algae the rock was also suffering with.

kept a few of the rocks in normal conditions without the washing and r o baths and just fought the aips back with normall methods so i can use them to recure my other rock.

spent a fortune.

yes you can but i cant answer that or i would have to do you in,lol

seriously its a hydroponic led light that contains red and blue leds that promote growth, that and someone on another forum said it grew cheato and calapera for fun and its only 11 watts and doesnt need replacing for years unless the built in fan packs up.

on another note ive just won 2 x 3.5 inch black suns on fleabay so they will be here on tuesday.

i know a guy that has one of them hydroponics over his nano chambers and the growth is amazing.

rory balanophyllias are pretty easy to keep compared to suns, i just totally fell out of love with the tank for a while there but going to get the spark back for it.

have you any plans for an aurofeeder?

going the way of a medical grade syringe pump eventually if i start properly with gorgs.
would love a few gorgs and a couple crynoid starfish (think spellings wrong).

but means heavy water changes.
im currently just pulling the suns from where they live and place in a tupperware box and dose with food, the pure yellows with some orange was nearly dead 3 weeks ago now its a stunner and getting healthier by the day.

i know its a pain but for the sake of 10 mins pulling them out and putting back in every other night it means my tank water wont suffer as badly.

lol, skimmers not pulled anything out of the tank water and its a good skimmer. as it took plenty out whilst curing and that was with fluctuating water levels.

on a another note the levels revealed by the tests were all over the show.

calc 380
mag 1100
dkh 12
phos .008 ish
nitrate 5
ph 8
nitrite 0
amonia salifert turned green - not even on the chart but everything is happy.
need to buffert a few things while the sand and rock take it all up.
